Che Guevara was a doctor from Argentina who became one of the central figures of the Cuban Revolution that overthrew the Batista dictatorship in 1959. He went on to serve the new Cuban state and then left it, to carry the struggle to the Congo and to Bolivia.

In Bolivia he was captured on 8 October 1967 and shot the next day by soldiers acting with the CIA. His diaries, his speeches on internationalism and his insistence that a revolutionary must be guided by great feelings of love are still read today. We remember him on the day of his death.
